Editorial standards
How we create Hush Club dilemmas.
The dilemma library is the foundation of Hush Club. Each prompt is written to make a real choice feel specific, answerable, and worth discussing. This page explains the editorial process behind the public collection and the in-app Decision DNA summaries.
Our review checklist
- Start with a recognisable human decision rather than an abstract personality label.
- Write both options so that each is understandable and defensible in context.
- Separate the prompt from the interpretation so readers can decide before seeing the analysis.
- Use plain language and avoid assumptions about gender, culture, income, relationship status, or family structure.
- Treat crowd percentages as descriptive snapshots of participating users, never as scientific norms.
- Review sensitive topics for unnecessary harm, coercion, harassment, privacy risk, or unsafe advice.
How a page is structured
A public dilemma page starts with the scenario and the two choices. It then gives the reader an opportunity to answer, shows the crowd snapshot, and explains the different motivations that can sit behind either response.
Related dilemmas are linked by topic so a reader can explore a theme instead of landing on an isolated prompt. The library is maintained as an evolving collection; prompts and explanations may be revised when wording is unclear, repetitive, or no longer useful.
A note on psychology
Hush Club uses accessible behavioural language to help people reflect on their answers.
